Chapter One: The Coming Storm

Page history last edited by Capellan 10 years, 10 months ago

Welcome to Sargasso

The crew of the Vixen spends their shore leave in the pirate city of Sargasso.  Galadir gets a lead on some mystical lore.  Brenatoph starts a bar fight.  Demanor finds that moose don't fit very well indoors.  Mysterious men in black cloaks kidnap Jordy.

The Duke's Daughter

The crew tracks Jordy's kidnappers to the slave pens below the city.  They drive the men off with minimal bloodshed.  Jordy expains that the men were looking for a birthmark on her buttock - a birthmark she does not have.  Finding where the men have gone, Demanor listens in on their conversation and learns that they are seeking the lost daughter of an unspecified Duke.  Clearly this birthmark is a means of identifying the missing noble.  Shem meets with the leader of the Duke's men, offers his oath that Jordy is not the one they seek, and warns them to leave his crew alone.

A Shadowy Future

The crew sets sail for Storm Cove, there to meet Tamanak, another pirate.  Tamanak has a plan, but he needs two ships to complete it.  The journey is interrupted, however, when the crew come across a derelict ship.  Investigating, that discover that is their own vessel, from some point in the future.  A strange box - some kind of mystic artefact - was brought aboard, and ultimately led the crew to slay one another.  Only a dark shade of Galadir remains, obsessing over his 'great treasure'.  The crew manages to damage the strange vessel and escape this macabre situation.

Storm Cove

Arriving at their destination, the crew hears Tamanak's scheme.  He has found a native village, rich with gold and slaves, but the settlement is too large for his men to defeat alone.  His plan is for the two crews to attack the village in concert, each from a different direction, then split the spoils.  The crew agrees, and trek to the site of the village.  Once their, however, they discover that the "plan" is a hoax, and Tamanak's men are not there.  They race back to the shore, arriving just in time to see the Vixen flee into the distance, Tamanak's vessel in hot pursuit.
