X-Path Alignments

The standard nine alignments of D20 are not used in X-Path.

Instead, characters are defined by their allegiance or belief structure. Any creature of a different belief structure counts as being of the diametrically opposed alignment for the purposes of any alignment-based effect in the game.

Example: Joseph Isaiah Smith is a Paladin. In D20, Paladins can detect evil and smite evil. Smith's belief system is Mormonism. He can detect non-Mormon and smite non-Mormon. And he does.
